Karl Denson's Tiny Universe has been touring worldwide for over 25 years, and tore the house down at Bowstring in Raleigh on May 17, 2024. KDTU is known for their hard-grooving sound, and is highly regarded as one of the best live acts on the planet . The band features Karl Denson on vocals and saxophone, along with a seven-piece unit that includes master percussionist Weedie Braimah. Touring and Collaborations KDTU has toured with various renowned artists and bands, including the Allman Brothers, My Morning Jacket, D'Angelo, The Roots, Public Enemy, Bob Weir of The Grateful Dead, Parliament Funkadelic, and Slightly Stoopid. They have also performed at all-night, sold-out concerts during Jazzfest in New Orleans, featuring sit-ins by artists such as Lenny Kravitz, Steve Winwood, Marc Ribot, and Boyfriend.In addition to their touring, Karl Denson has collaborated with notable musicians such as Chuck Leavell, keyboardist for The Rolling Stones, and Ivan Neville, a prominent figure in the New Orleans R&B scene Recent Releases KDTU recently released their album "Gnomes and Badgers," which is described as their hard-grooving answer to the divisive times we live in. The album features collaborations with artists like Chuck Leavell, Lukas Nelson, Anders Osborne, Adrian Quesada, and Ivan Neville.
