Snoop Dogg, Wiz Khalifa & The HS Reunion Tour
Snoop Dogg’s sold-out High School Reunion Tour rolled into Raleigh’s Coastal Credit Union Amphitheater Sunday night with a full West Coast lineup—Wiz Khalifa, Warren G, Too Short, Berner, and DJ Drama. From chaotic traffic at the gates to a high-energy show packed with nostalgia, production spectacle, and tributes to hip-hop legends, the night delivered exactly what fans hoped for. Raleigh Music Live captured photos from the show and spoke with concertgoers about the experience—including one fan who last saw Snoop two decades ago and reflected on how much the live hip-hop spectacle has evolved.

Sunday evening rolled in with a plume of clouds as Snoop Dogg's sold-out High School Reunion Tour came to the Coastal Credit Union Amphitheater. What was billed as a star-studded cast of artists including Wiz Khalifa, Warren G, Too Short, Berner, and DJ Drama evolved with hype and energy that met—and exceeded—expectations.
Raleigh Music Live captured photos from the show and met with several concert audience members to get their experience throughout the night.
First let's talk about the traffic, which unarguably was a little rough coming in. Not sure anyone caught it, but someone's truck broke an axle quite literally in the final turn for the parking lot, leaving me wondering what that must have felt like at that finish line—sheesh.
Once in the gates, DJ Drama kept the energy at a level the whole time. He was also gracious enough to throw out towels and incense sticks to the crowd, which helped with the heat. Berner also delivered several boxes of cookies and instructions on how to properly use these incense sticks.
RML had an opportunity to speak with George Goblet, a concert attendee who had seen Snoop Dogg twenty years before this night.
“Obviously I was mainly looking forward to seeing Snoop Dogg. It was cool to see the way he included several other West Coast legends on this tour. I wish Eazy-E, Dre, and some others could have been there. But it was nice to see how he memorialized not only them but so many others too. He covered some of Tupac, Eazy, and Notorious BIG’s songs. This was awesome, especially considering the ‘bumpy’ history he had with both of them,” said Goblet.
For a large portion of millennials and Gen-Xers, one can only be curious how much of an impact twenty years can make—not only on the musicians but also on the overall musical experience, given the technological advancements.
Goblet shared: “This show was fantastic. The strippers were very ‘on brand,’ the car, the lighting— all of it was really good. The last time I saw Snoop it was at the House of Blues in Myrtle Beach, SC, and the show ended up starting about an hour and forty-five minutes late, with an array of Snoop’s entourage joining the stage that were not that well known. Snoop’s overall reaction to the crowd was something to the nature of, ‘If y’all mother*****s know Snoop, y’all know I’m going to be late.’”
Regarding this show in Raleigh tonight, Goblet shared: “I mean obviously when you look at both venues at the time—HOB vs. Coastal Credit Union (then Walnut Creek Amphitheater)—it wasn’t a fair comparison. But the lights and stage production quality we have now because of the technology… it’s such an amazing show.”
The RML staff in attendance have to agree. For the sheer productional output of this show, it’s amazing. In fact, no expense seemed to be spared.
Goblet added that what made the show exceptionally special was the final song, “Young, Wild and Free.”
“Man, it’s just a happy song. When you look at how Wiz and Snoop worked together on it, it’s got such a great perspective for life,” Goblet said.
In closing, Goblet shared an awesome photo he took from the night.
“It was in between Wiz Khalifa and Snoop’s set. There’s a familiar odor about. It seemed like a type of stratified particulate wafting about that created this cathedral effect as the light filtered through a tree beside the seats. DJ Drama was filling the time between sets, and this was filling the air. It was delightful.”
